Dana Wightman, PA-C Bio
Dana’s passion for health and fitness started early on. She recalls studying the old food pyramid on the back of cereal boxes and planning her daily exercise routine as far back as grade school. But it was as a college student that this personal interest blossomed into a career path. She went on to obtain a dual Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology.
During her graduate training, she had the privilege of learning from many cutting edge integrative medical doctors and other functional and holistic health practitioners. With these tools, she began her practice as a nutritionist and personal trainer at weight loss clinics, fitness centers, private country clubs, and doctor's offices. There she developed personalized diet and exercise programs for her clients and patients.
Despite her passion for the work, Dana often felt limited in her ability to help some of her patients - specifically, those with chronic disease and difficulty losing weight no matter how strict they adhered to her program. She set her sights on becoming a Physician Assistant to better understand medicine and the disease process.
Dana practiced as a PA for 7+ years in a variety of clinical settings including primary care, cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, and plastic surgery. Now, as a part of the Revolution Medicine team, she combines her experience managing chronic diseases like obesity, heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia with her knowledge and passion for holistic health and wellness to create a truly integrative approach.
When she is not working, you can find Dana at home with her husband and two boys. She loves cooking for her family and is always finding new ways to sneak more veggies into their food!
